MINUTES CITY COUNCIL JULY 23, 2014 PW -PARKS The City Administrator reported that James Steele Construction, FACILITY — construction manager for the Public Works -Parks Facility, has obtained QUOTES FOR quotes for earthwork and for site utilities. The Administrator reported EARTHWORK that three quotes were received for earthwork, with the low quote submitted by Jaycon, LLC in the amount of $98,373. James Steele Construction recommended the award of the low quote. McGraw introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION NO. 2014-7-142 — AWARDING THE LOW QUOTE OF JAYCON, LLC FOR EARTH WORK AT THE PUBLIC WORKS - PARKS PROJECT IN THE AMOUNT OF 08,373 The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Montour. Ayes (4). Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted. The Administrator reported that three quotes were received for site utility work with the low quote submitted by Jaycon, LLC in the amount of $60,888. James Steele Construction recommended award of the low quote. Montour introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION NO. 2014-7-143 —AWARDING THE LOW QUOTE OF JAYCON, LLC FOR SITE UTILITY WORK AT THE PUBLIC WORKS -PARKS PROJECT IN THE AMOUNT OF $60,888 The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Keis. Ayes (4). Nays (0). Resolution adopted. VETERANS Montour reminded the general public that the Veterans Memorial video MEMORIAL can be viewed on the City's cable channel. He encouraged anyone interested in purchasing a paver to do so prior to Labor Day, so that the paver can be installed at the Memorial Dedication Ceremony on Veterans Day. DEMONT Rocky Waite asked the Council to consider dead -ending Demont Street STREET at the railroad tracks. He suggested that this will eliminate the railroad crossing at Demont Street as well as reduce traffic through neighborhoods. 14
