MINUTES
CITY COUNCIL
JULY 23, 2014
is staff's position that the Variance standards are met and the Variance
justified.
Joe Peters, property owner, noted that if the property line were moved 9
feet, there would be no need for the Variance as each lot would be 150 feet
wide. However, moving the line 10 feet results in the northern most lot
being 149 feet in width and the southern lot 151 feet. Peters noted that
with the Property Division and the Variance, the result is a win-win
situation in that the row of pine trees can remain providing screening for
the adjacent Pitrina Park townhomes.
McGraw asked if Peters had mct with the townhome association. Peters
replied that he did and that they are in support of the Property Division
and Variance.
There was no one present from the general public wishing to comment on
this matter.
Upon motion by Keis, seconded by McGraw, the public hearing was
closed.
Keis introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption:
RESOLUTION NO. 2014-7-136 — APPROVING THE VARIANCE
FROM LOT WIDTH REQUIREMENT FOR 3020 CENTERVILLE
ROAD BASED ON THE FINDINGS AS OUTLINED IN THE CITY
PLANNER'S REPORT DATED JULY 3, 2014 AND SUBJECT TO
THE RECOMMENDATIONS OF THE CITY PLANNER AND THE
PLANNING COMMISSION
The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by McGraw.
Ayes (4).
Nays (0).
