MAYOR
Bill Blesener
COUNCIL
Rick Montour
John Keis
Michael McGraw
Shelly Boss
515 Little Canada Road, Little Canada, MN 55117-1600
(651) 766-4029 / FAX: (651) 766-4048 ADMINISTRATOR
www.ci.Iittle-canada.mn.us Joel R. Hanson
MEMORANDUM
TO: Mayor Blesener & Members of City Council
FROM: Bill Dircks, Public Works Superintendent
DATE: September 9, 2014
RE: Air Quality Monitoring Station Lease Amendment
The City entered into a lease agreement with the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency in
2011 which enabled them to set up an air quality monitoring station within the fenced in
area at the City's Booster Station on County Road B. The lease was extended in 2013.
The responsibility for the air quality monitoring stations has been passed on to the
Minnesota Department of Health so the lease agreement needs to be amended to reflect
the change. The new lease agreement is with the MN Department of Health and is four a
term of four years and 10 months from November 1, 2014 to August 31, 2019. The rent
$50 per month.
Staff recommends approving the amended lease reflecting the MN Department of Health
as the new lessee replacing the MN Pollution Control Agency.
