MAYOR
lull Blesener
COUNCIL
Rick Montour
John Keis
Michael McGraw
Shelly Boss
515 Little Canada Road, Little Canada, MN 55117-1600
(651) 766-4029 / FAX: (651) 766-4048 ADMINISTRATOR
www.ci.Iittle-canada.mn.us Joel R. Hanson
MEMORANDUM
TO: Mayor Blesener and Members of the City Council
FROM: Kathy Glanzer, City Clerk
DATE: October 2, 2014
RE: Personnel Policy Amendments
Attached are proposed amendments to the Personnel Policy which are essentially housekeeping
in nature.
The first amendments relate to Section 10 — Overtime & Compensatory Time. These
amendments delete references to sick leave and vacation since the City has replaced these
benefits with Paid Time Off (PTO). There is one additional provision suggested that would
allow for the accrual of Compensatory Time in excess of 40 hours if approved by the City
Administrator.
The second amendments relate to Section 23 — Smoking Policy. These amendments generally
refer to all City buildings and vehicles rather than listing each building individually. The
amendments also expand the prohibition of tobacco products to include electronic delivery
devices as has been recommended by the North Suburban Tobacco Compliance Project.
City staff recommends approval of these amendments as proposed.
