MINUTES
CITY COUNCIL
AUGUST 22, 2007
HOTEL/ The Administrator reported that it appears that Don Gagne is willing to
RESTAURANT be involved in an RFP for ahotel/restaurant development on his property.
RFP PROJECT The Administrator noted that the Ketchmark property maybe an issue
should the property owners not be interested in a voluntary sale of their
site. The Administrator indicated that he will be working to obtain site
control. Once that occurs, the RFP process can proceed.
McGOUGH The City Administrator reported that eminent domain maybe necessary
PROPERTY to move forward with the redevelopment of the McGough property as well
as adjacent sites. This site has been identified as a possible site for a new
Public Works garage. The Administrator suggested that the City move
forward with acquisition of sites in this area as they become available.
COUNTY The Administrator noted that another development priority is the
ROAD B-2/ acquisition of parcels on the north side of County Road B-2 to enable the
RICE future widening of B-2 for an additional left turn lane while also
STREET providing for a City sidewalk and some landscape/buffering treatments for
Terrace Heights Mobilehome Park.
The Administrator indicated that he has had some discussions with the
owners Terrace Heights who have indicated that they would possibly be
interested in working with the City on this issue. There would be four
mobilehomes that would be impacted by the widening of County Road
B-2. There is the possibility of a land trade with Terrace Heights or the
City's purchase of the property. In any event, the mobilehome occupants
would be relocated to another az•ea of the park.
The Administrator indicated that this project is preliminary at this point,
but will need immediate attention if the City moves forward with a TIF
project.
GATEWAY The Administrator suggested that it may be necessary to rethink the
AREA development of a restaurant as part of The Village redevelopment project
depending on how the rest of the site develops. The Administrator
suggested that the parking requirements would be difficult to meet with
the proposed restaurant pad, but would be feasible if the restaurant is
eliminated.
Blesener asked if Sherman Associates had any development plans as yet
for the vacant property adjacent to the Market Place Shopping Center.
The Administrator reported that he is not aware of any development plans
at this time.
