Minnesota Department of Transportation <br />1500 West County Road B2 <br />Roseville, MN 55113 <br />October 2nd, 2014 <br />Honorable Mayor Bill Blesener <br />Little Canada City Center <br />515 Little Canada Road East <br />Little Canada, MN 55117 <br />Subject: S.P. 6281-47 <br />I 35E from Little Canada Road to County Road J <br />Municipal Consent Request <br />Dear Mayor Blesener: <br />RECEIVED <br />UC(0870144 <br />CITY OF urrLE CANADA <br />The Minnesota Department of Transportation has a programmed project on Interstate 35E (TI -J 35E) <br />between Little Canada Road to County Road J. The purpose of the project is to improve highway and <br />transit performance on the I -35E corridor north of St. Paul. The project will construct a third lane in each <br />direction (northbound and southbound) between Goose Lake Rd and County Road 96, construct a third <br />lane for northbound 35E from County Road 96 to County Road J, repurpose the shoulders constructed in <br />the Goose Lake Project (SP 6281-25) for a third lane in each direction (northbound and southbound), <br />repurpose southbound 35E from just south of County Road E to Little Canada Road, and construct a noise <br />wall pending a noise analysis for benefiting receptors. MnDOT is seeking Municipal Consent from the <br />City of Little Canada on this project (see the enclosed layout). <br />MnDOT is paying for the construction of the project with no participation from the City of Little Canada. <br />The project is presently scheduled for a February 26, 2016 letting, with construction to begin in the <br />Spring of 2016 and planned to be completed in Fall of 2016. MnDOT needs to have consent prior to <br />letting and would appreciate receiving Municipal Consent from the City by early March 2015.
