MINUTES
CITY COUNCIL
OCTOBER 22, 2014
MN PASS
LANE -
LITTLE
CANADA
ROAD TO
HIGHWAY 96
RESCHEDULE
NOVEMBER 26
COUNCIL
MEETING
The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by McGraw.
Ayes (5).
Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted.
The City Administrator reviewed his report dated October 17, 2014
noting that MnDot is preparing to move forward with the second phase
of the MnPass Project along I -35E from Little Canada Road to Highway
96. MnDot is seeking municipal consent from the City for this project
and have asked for that consent as early as March of 2015. The City
Administrator felt that this was an opportunity for the City to address
some outstanding issues with MnDot. I -Ie noted that some of these issues
include adding back the sound barrier in front of Quebec apartments,
extending the sound barrier near the end of Twin Lake Trail, and securing
repayment for railing work on the Little Canada Road bridge. Blesener
suggested adding the repainting of the sound walls that were added as part
of the Unweave The Weave Project. The Administrator noted that the
repainting is supposed to proceed. MnDot took bids for that work, but
only one was received. 'they are now considering rebidding the work.
The Administrator reported that there was a recent meeting with MnDot
and both Little Canada and Vadnais Heights strongly expressed the need
to get the repainting work completed.
It was the consensus of the Council that a workshop meeting should be
scheduled with MnDot to discuss the second phase of the MnPass project
sometime after the November election so that new Council Members can
be involved in the process. The City Administrator indicated that he
would contact MnDot for possible workshop dates.
The City Clerk noted that it has been the Council's past practice to
reschedule its second meeting in November, which typically falls the
evening before Thanksgiving.
Blesener introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption:
RESOLUTION NO. 2014-10-202 - CANCELLING THE NOVEMBER
26, 2014 COUNCIL MEETING AND RESCHEDULING IT TO
MONDAY, NOVEMBER 24, 2014 AT 7:30 P.M.
The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Boss.
Ayes (5).
Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted.
8
