MINUTES CITY COUNCIL OCTOBER 22, 2014 CALL FOR BUDGET WORKSHOP PURCHASE OF 2015 DUMP TRUCK LCRA HALLOWEEN DANCE The City Administrator recommended that the Council call for a 2015 Budget workshop to discuss budget updates and review the Capital Improvement Fund. Montour introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION NO. 2014-10-203 — CALLING A 2015 BUDGET WORKSHOP FOR WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 12, 2014 AT 6:00 P.M. The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by McGraw. Ayes (5). Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted. The City Administrator reviewed the Public Works Superintendent's report dated October 16, 2014 recommending replacement of the 2000 Sterling single axle dump truck with 2015 International chassis and Crysteel Equipment package. Total price is $160,903.17 with a net cost of $130,903.17 given a $30,000 trade-in credit for the 2000 Sterling. The City budgeted $130,000 for this purchase in 2015, so the truck is slightly over budget. Staff is requesting approval to place the over now as it will take 4 to 6 months to get the truck built. This truck is an important piece of equipment to the City's snowplowing operations. McGraw introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION NO. 2014-10-204 — AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASE OF 2015 INTERNATIONAL CHASSIS FROMASTLEFORD AND CRYSTEEL EQUIPMENT PACKAGE ATA TOTAL COST OF $160,903.17 WITH NET COST OF $130,903.17 AFTER TRADE-IN AS REQUESTED BY THE PUBLIC WORKS SUPERINTENDENT The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Keis. Ayes (5). Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted. Mayor Blesener reported that the Little Canada Recreation Association will be hosting a Halloween Dance on Friday, October 24, 2014 at the Old Fire Hall. The dance begins at 8 p.m. and admission is at no charge. 9
