MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING <br />PARKS & RECREATION COMMISSION <br />LITTLE CANADA, MINNESOTA <br />NOVEMBER 6, 2014 <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof a regular meeting of the Parks & <br />Recreation Commission of the City of Little Canada, Minnesota, was held on <br />the 6th day of November, 2014, in the Council Chambers of the City Center <br />located at 515 Little Canada Road East in said city. <br />Chair Patti Sullivan called the meeting to order at 6:30 p.m. and the <br />following members of the commission were present: <br />MEMBERS PRESENT: <br />ALSO PRESENT: <br />Ms. Patti Sullivan <br />Ms. Linda Fahey <br />Mr. Jeff Heikke <br />Mr. Tom Maida <br />Mr. Dave Miller <br />Mr. Kevin Steinert <br />Mr. Kong Vang <br />Mr. Jim Morelan, Parks & Rec Dir. <br />Mr. Bill Sanders, Parks Consultant <br />Ms. Vanessa Van Alstine, Cable Prod. <br />Ms. Kathy Glanzer, City Clerk <br />MINUTES The Commission unanimously approved the minutes of the August 7, 2014 <br />meeting. <br />NOEL DRIVE The Parks & Recreation Director reported that completion of the Noel Drive <br />SIDEWALK sidewalk connection from Little Canada Road to Gervais Mill Park and <br />perhaps as far as the trail entrance to Spooner Park along the creek is on hold <br />at this time. The Director indicated that based on the Commission's <br />comments that the sidewalk should be at street level, this issue will be <br />revisited in the spring. <br />WARMING The Director indicated that construction of the new warming house is <br />HOUSE underway. The foundation is in and the block will be delivered shortly. <br />UPDATE The Construction Manager anticipates that the building will be complete by <br />the third week in December, in time for this year's skating season. <br />Fahey asked about the late start. The Director reported that there were issues <br />relative to the setback for the building. The Council granted a setback <br />Variance to address that issue. However, there are discussions with St. <br />John's Church about the purchase of additional property that will negate the <br />need for the Variance. Maida asked if the placement of the warming house <br />was necessary to meet handicapped accessibility requirements. The Director <br />1 <br />
