Resent -From: <LC council(rnnetro-inet.us>
From: Linda Foth <ljfoth(dhzmail.com>
Date: November 4, 2014, 8:11:36 AM CST
'1'o: <council a.ci.little-canada.mn.us>
Subject: City Council Minutes of 10-22
Dear Mayor and Council Members -
I am writing to let you know of my concern about the proposed tobacco/convenience store at the
corner of Rice Street and Demont Avenue.
I am concerned the owner of' this and other Little Canada properties wants the City to allow a
proposed tobacco/convenience store in this location. Is it not true the owner of this and other
Little Canada properties also serves on the Planning Commission. Seems like a conflict to me! I
watch the Little Canada minutes that are emailed to me regularly. Since Little Canada is very
small community there are not many big issues for the city to address.
In my opinion, the building on this corner is already an eye sore. I live at Canabury
Condominiums. I am a single older female, working as professional in downtown St. Paul. I love
the area I live in, but I am not happy about this proposal or the I-Iooka Shop located at the strip
mall on Little Canada Road,
1 would love to see the property at Rice and Demont completely torn down and a nice restaurant
or other property that could serve all of Little Canada, Roseville, Maplewood and other visitors. I
do not feel the traffic this store would bring is the kind of traffic I want to see in Little Canada.
Please review this request very seriously and know that I would vote no to this request.
Sincerely,
Linda Foth
1
74
