MINUTES <br />PLANNING COMMISSION <br />DECEMBER 11, 2014 <br />Ledin asked how many group homes Little Canada has. The City Planner <br />reported that there is no notification of the establishment of a group home <br />in the City. <br />Fischer recommended adoption of the Zoning Amendment relative to the <br />definition of family as recommended by the City Planner in his December <br />5, 2014 report. <br />Motion seconded by Murphy. <br />Motion carried 6 — 0. <br />SALE/ The City Planner reported that there is a State Statute that asks that the <br />PURCHASE Planning Commission comment on the sale and/or purchase of any <br />OF property by the City. He noted that no formal action is required by the <br />PROPERTY Commission, the Commission is merely asked to comment. <br />The Planner reviewed the City Administrator's December 4, 2014 report <br />relative to this issue. He noted the following: <br />o Sale of 3046 LaBore Road — this property was acquired by <br />the City as a blighted property and has now been sold for <br />redevelopment with a new single-family home. The City <br />retained a 50 -foot trail easement over this property. <br />o Sale of Rice Street/Viking Drive vacant lot — this lot was <br />created as part of the realignment of Rice Street and Viking <br />Drive. The property has been sold for the development of a <br />medical clinic. <br />o Purchase of 331 Little Canada Road — this property is <br />adjacent to the fire station. The Little Canada Fire <br />Department has been long interested in this property for <br />future expansion purposes. <br />o Purchase of 56 Little Canada Road — the City has acquired <br />several properties in this area for development of a park. <br />This property was recently sold via contract -for -deed. The <br />property has been defaulted on, and the realtor has <br />contacted the City to determine if there is still interest in its <br />acquisition for addition to the City's park area. <br />The Commission reviewed these property sales/acquisitions and felt that <br />all were warranted for the described purposes. Duray indicated that he felt <br />- 5 - <br />
