There was a discussion on the weight limit of the road during and after
construction and whether or not semi -trucks with trailers could use the road
during construction. Mr. Elfering replied that semis would be able to use the
road during construction and that the final wear course would be paved in late -
2015 so that trucks could use the road in spring 2016.
Y A comment was made that Coon Rapids had reconstructed a road in front of a
Dock 86 and things went very well with good communication and updates. Mr.
Elfering stated that the City of Little Canada also provides frequent updates and
communicates information as much as possible.
Y The project timeframe was discussed. It will likely occur between May and
October and when the work actually takes place will depend on the contractor
doing the work. But once the road is reclaimed the contractor will have a set
number of days to complete the work. In this case that will be between 4 and 6
weeks.
➢ There was a request for signage indicating that businesses were open during
construction. Mr. Elfering stated that he would implement into the construction
plans.
Those present were in favor of continuing the process of getting the road done in
2015. The City Administrator then said staff would recommend that the potential
project move forward to an improvement hearing with the Council.
The Country Drive property owners were thanked for their participation.
6
