LITTLE CANADA
PARKS AND RECREATION
DEPARTMENT
515 Little Canada Road, Little Canada, MN 55117-1600
Telephone: (651) 766-4029 / Fax: (651) 766-4048
www.ci.little-canada.mn.us
TO:
FROM:
DATE:
RE:
JIM MORELAN, Director
(651) 766-4045
DON BOWMAN, Recreation Supervisor
(651) 766-4041
KATIE McGINNITY, Recreation Supervisor
(651) 766-4042
DEREK ANDERSON, Park Maintenance Supervisor
(651) 766-4056
MEMORANDUM
Mayor Blesener and Members of the City Council
Jim Morelan, Parks & Recreation Director
December 5, 2014
Old Fire Hall Rental Policy
Attached is a proposed revision of the rental rules and regulations governing the use of the Old
Fire I-Iall. The changes include the following:
1. An approximate 2% increase in the rental rate;
2. A $100 increase in the security deposit;
3. A deletion of the requirement of the city being named as an additional insured
when allowing alcohol on site.
The 2% increase in the rental fee represents an adjustment for annual inflation, while the increase
in the security deposit will, hopefully, further deter renters from violating the rental rules and
regulations.
Changes in the insurance requirement for allowing liquor on site were necessitated by refusal of
most insurance companies to name the City as an additional insured. The City will still require a
certificate of insurance which will include host liquor liability coverage for the Old Fire Hall
location and the date of the event.
I would recommend the above changes be implemented for future rentals.
1
