MINUTES <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />DECEMBER 15, 2014 <br />transferred title on some of his cars to another auto sales dealer, and has <br />moved some vehicles to the auto sales auction. Abdullah reported that it is <br />his plan to get out of the business by mid-January and he will not be <br />renewing his State license. Abdullah reported that the owner of Nova <br />Auto is in the process of leasing space in the City of Farmington and <br />hopes to have that space available by mid-January. At that time, he will <br />move his vehicles from Little Canada. On behalf of himself and Nova <br />Auto, Abdullah requested that the City give them a month or so to <br />liquidate and/or move their vehicles from the City. Abdullah indicated <br />that his bond expires on January 14, 2015 and he would not be renewing <br />it. His auto sales license with the state expires on January 31, 2015. The <br />City Administrator pointed out that the City's license typically expires on <br />June 30, 2015. <br />Vladimir Verenich, Nova Auto, informed the Council that he is <br />negotiating for the lease of property in the City of Farmington and hopes <br />to have that space by the middle of January. Verenich indicated that once <br />Russ Fischer rebuilds his building, he would be returning to Little Canada. <br />Fischer is hoping that the building will be ready for occupancy on <br />September I, 2015. <br />Montour asked what options are available to the City. The City Planner <br />indicated that there is no provision to issue temporary indoor auto sales <br />licenses to these businesses. He also noted that if another site is found in <br />Little Canada, a Conditional Use Permit would have to be processed for <br />the new location which could be finalized by late January, 2015, at the <br />earliest. The Planner indicated that the Council has the option of directing <br />City staff to delay enforcement. He also noted that the businesses' State <br />licenses expire at the end of January and the City would have to sign off <br />on renewal forms indicating that the property zoning is in place for these <br />businesses. This will not be possible given there is no longer a building at <br />the businesses' current location. <br />The owners of both Nova Auto and Pony Auto Sales indicated that they do <br />not intend to renew their State licenses fbr the Little Canada location. <br />Both owners requested that the City give them three to four weeks to <br />move their inventory from Little Canada. Keis asked how many vehicles <br />each of the businesses have. Both owners indicated they each have <br />approximately I 1 vehicles. <br />The City Administrator noted that the licenses have been revoked, but the <br />Council has the option to suspend enforcement action for a month and <br />then notify the State that the licenses have been revoked. The City <br />Attorney replied that this is a viable option, and noted the City's history of <br />working with business owners. He pointed out that the Code does not <br />11 <br />
