MINUTES <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />JANUARY 28, 2015 <br />CONSENT <br />AGENDA <br />Store to Mr. Jackson. She noted that once the Off -Sale License is <br />transferred to Mr. Jackson, the MGM License will be null and void. <br />Therefore, it was important to protect Mr. Heller's interests that the sale be <br />closed prior to the Off -Sale License being issued to Jackson. <br />Mr. Jackson appeared before the Council and reported that he is <br />purchasing the MGM location and will change the name to A-1 Liquor. <br />He noted that he owns two other liquor stores, one in Maplewood and one <br />in Crystal, and has been in the liquor store business for about one year. <br />Jackson reported that he also operates J & M Concessions providing <br />concession services at bingo halls in Roseville and St. Paul. Jackson <br />reported that the closing date on the MGM sale is February 16, 2015. <br />Torkelson asked if Mr. Jackson would own the property immediately <br />behind MGM. Jackson replied that he will be leasing the property. <br />McGraw introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2015-1-17 — APPROVING AN OFF -SALE <br />LIQUOR LICENSE AND A GENERAL TOBACCO LICENSE FOR <br />STANLEY JACKSON, A-1 LIQUOR, FOR PROPERTY LOCATION <br />AT 2770 RICE STREET, PENDING RECEIPT OF A SATISFACTORY <br />CERTIFICATE OF LIQUOR LIABILITY INSURANCE AND <br />CONTINGENT UPON THE CLOSING OF THE SALE FOR THE <br />PURCHASE OF THE MGM LIQUOR STORE <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Keis. <br />Ayes (5). <br />Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted. <br />Montour introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2015-1-18 —APPROVING THE CONSENT <br />AGENDA WHICH CONTAINS THE FOLLOWING: <br />*APPROVAL OF THE VOUCHERS; <br />*CALL PUBLIC HEARING TO CONSIDER LIQUOR LICENSE FEE <br />INCREASE; <br />*APPROVAL OF TEMPORARY LIQUOR LICENSE FOR ST. <br />JOHN'S CHURCH; <br />4 <br />
