MINUTES
CITY COUNCIL
FEBRUARY 11, 2015
CONSENT
AGENDA
Dayton's budget. The $42 billion budget includes funding for increased
mental health services, child care and transportation. However, there is
concern that the budget proposal shifts costs to counties relative to
regional treatment centers and lack of funding for Child Protective
Services. McGuire also reviewed the County's legislative initiatives
which include a request for funding victim advocacy services, $2 million
for the Rice/694 Bridge project, $6.5 million for Rice Creek Commons
road improvements (formerly TCAAP), an increased in leased vehicle
revenue for Ramsey County, school-based workforce career counselors,
and bonding authorities.
McGuire then summarized some of the ways that the County works with
Little Canada to serve residents. These include Ramsey County Sheriff's
Department providing policy services, Public Works projects and
snowplowing of County roads, both the County park and library systems,
and election services. McGuire reported that the County Election
Department has asked that she ask anyone interested in serving as an
election judge to contact Ramsey County Elections or the City.
McGuire then reported that the County recently conducted strategic
planning which resulted in restated Vision and Mission statements as well
as four County goals which she then reviewed for the Council. McGuire
also indicated that there will be a reorganization of the County
management system, and that she will keep the City updated on that
process. McGuire thanked the Council for the opportunity to address them
this evening, and asked that they contact her with any comments or
concerns. The Council thanked McGuire for her information presentation.
Montour introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption:
RESOLUTION NO. 2015-2-29 —APPROVING THE CONSENT
AGENDA WHICH CONTAINS THE FOLLOWING:
*APPROVAL OF THE VOUCHERS;
*APPROVAL OFA TWO-YEAR EXTENSION OF THE
WHISPERING PINES FINAL PLAT APPROVAL UNTIL
FEBRUARY10, 2017;
*APPROVAL OF THE CITY'S SPONSORSHIP OF THE
RAMSEY/WASHINGTON METRO WATERSHED DISTRICT 2015
WATERFEST AS RECOMMENDED BY THE CITY
ADMINISTRATOR;
3
