MINUTES <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />FEBRUARY 11, 2015 <br />*APPROVAL OF THE 2015 SAFETY TRAINING CONTRACT WITH <br />SAFEASSURE AND AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND CITY <br />ADMINISTRATOR TO EXECUTE THE CONTRACT ON BEHALF <br />OF THE CITY; <br />*CALLING FOR WORKSHOPS TO CONDUCT STRATEGIC <br />PLANNING SESSION AS RECOMMENDED BY THE CITY <br />ADMINISTRATOR; <br />*APPROVAL OF CHANGE ORDER FOR PUBLIC WORKS GARAGE <br />PROJECT AS RECOMMENDED BY THE PUBLIC WORKS <br />SUPERINTENDENT <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by McGraw. <br />Ayes (5). <br />Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted. <br />PIONEER The City Administrator reported that the Pioneer Park pond has silted in <br />PARK over the years given the fact that drainage runs across the ballfields and <br />GRADING there has been erosion of aglime into the ponding areas. The <br />PROJECT Administrator noted that the City called for bids for regarding of the area <br />as well as much removal from the ponds. Nine bids were received ranging <br />in price from $95,622.50 to $174,471.30. He pointed out that the City had <br />included this project as part of projects bid by the Watershed last fall. <br />While the Watershed received good bids for their portion of the projects <br />bid, the bid received for the City's work in Pioneer Park was high at <br />$171,500 and, therefore, rejected. The Administrator noted that the low <br />bid received today results in a substantial cost savings for the City. He <br />indicated that the City is recommending award of the low bid submitted by <br />Minnesota Dirt Works in the amount of $95,622.50 for the Pioneer Park <br />grading project. <br />McGraw introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2015-2-30 —AWARDING THE LOW BID OF <br />MINNESOTA DIRT WORKS IN THE AMOUNT OF $95,622.50 FOR <br />PIONEER PARK GRADING AND MUCK REMOVAL PROJECT <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Montour. <br />Ayes (5). <br />Nays (0).
