MINUTES OF THE WORKSHOP MEETING <br />CITY COUNCIL, <br />LITTLF. CANADA, MINNESOTA <br />JANUARY 24, 2007 <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof a workshop meeting of the City <br />Council of Little Canada, Minnesota was convened ou the 24th day of <br />January, 2007 in the Council Chambers of the City Centor located at 515 <br />Little Canada Road in said City. <br />Mayor Bill Blesener called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m. and the <br />following members of the City Council were present at roll call: <br />CITY COUNCIL: Mayor Mr. Bill Blesener <br />Council Member Ms. Barbara Allan <br />Council Member Mr. John Keis <br />Council Member Mr. Rick Montour <br />ALSO PRESENT: City Administrator Mr. Joel R. Hanson <br />Council Appointee Mr. Michael McGraw <br />City Planner Mr. Steve Grittman <br />City Engineer Mr. Lee Elfering <br />Planning Comm. Mr. Tom Duray <br />City Clerk Ms. Kathy Glanzer <br />ZONING The purpose of tonight's workshop is the continuation of review of the <br />& City's Zoning and Subdivision Ordinances. The City Planner began with <br />SUBDIVISION a review of the Subdivision Ordinance highlighting several comments <br />ORDINANCE or changes that were suggested from staff review of the ordinance. The <br />REVIEW Council concurred with tlrose comments and recommendations. <br />There was discussion relative to whether or not written notice of the <br />Planning Commission recommendation should be required to be submitted <br />to the applicant. The City Planner indicated that he would deternrine if <br />there are any statutory requirements of this nature. <br />There was discussion of the "McMansion" issue; that is the construction <br />of a very large home on a small lot. The Planner indicated that he would <br />loo]< at how other cities are addressing this issue. <br />The Planner indicated that he would clarify the method for measuring cul- <br />de-sac length in the ordinances so that method is consistent throughout. <br />There was discussion relative to park land dedication requirements, which <br />it was noted is also addressed in the Municipal Code. The City Planner <br />pointed out that the City's park charge is low in comparison to other cities. <br />The City Adminish~ator reported that staff will review park charges and <br />
