MINUTES
CITY COUNCIL
JANUARY 24, 2007
submit a recommendation to the Parks & Recreation Commission for
review. This issue will then be brought back for Council action.
The City Administrator asked that the Planner ensure that the ordinance
address the looping of wateimain. It was also suggested that review of
construction standards for streets and utility infrastructure be done to
ensure that developers are required to meet adequate standards.
Keis asked about the inclusion of architectural guidelines in the Code in
order to give these standards more weight.
The City Planner then reviewed the Shoreland Ordinance, noting that the
City's ordinance language closely models the NEMO language. The
Planner indicated that he will add the appropriate references to the stornr
water ordinance as well as make a few other minor modifications.
The City Planner indicated that he will put the City's ordinances in hnal
form, including a tracking of the proposed changes, for the Council's and
Planning Commission's review. Once those documents are distributed,
the Council can decide if a final workshop meeting should be held to
review the changes. It was noted that a public hearing will need to be held
to consider the changes and act upon them. At that hearing, the major
changes would be highlighted for the general public.
The City Planner indicated that work will begin soon on the City's
Comprehensive Plan update. This document should be completed by June
of 2008 given that it will need to be submitted to and reviewed by other
jurisdictions.
There being no further business, the workshop meeting was adjourned at
7:08 p.m.
,.
W~am lese$er, Mayor
Attest: ..C. / ~---~J
Joel Hanson, City Administrator
