MINUTES
PARKS & RECREATION COMMISSION
MARCH 5, 2015
PARK Maida reported that he has seen park benches in some other parks in the
BENCHES cities that are made from a brown recycled material. Sanders replied that
these were available at no cost through the Active Living program. Maida
suggested that the City may want to check if these benches are still available,
if there is the need for additional benches. Maida also suggested that bench
locations be put on parks maps so that people will know their location. Age
of benches could also be tracked for future maintenance/replacement
purposes. Miller pointed out that the maps could be used to identify future
bench locations that people could review when considering the donation of a
bench. Sanders and the Director indicated that they would look into putting
bench locations on park maps.
Steinert asked if picnic tables were only located in park shelters. The
Director replied that there were several picnic tables in parks outside of those
at shelters.
MARKET The Director reported that the next Market Place Morning Talk is scheduled
PLACE for Wednesday, March 11, 2015 at 8:45 a.m. on the subject of Emergency
MORNING Preparedness. It was noted that the morning talks have been in existence for
TALKS many years and are typically attended by seniors, although anyone is
welcomed to attend.
ADJOURN
Darling moved the meeting be adjourned.
Motion seconded by Miller.
Motion carried 6 — 0.
There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 7:25 p.m.
Respectfully submi
by Glagfr
City Clerk
6
