It was also noted that the Little Venetian also has a banquet
facility.
Keis asked about calls for service at the shopping center. The City Clerk
indicated that calls for service are checked annually as part of liquor
license renewals, and there have not been any significant issues in the last
few years. McGlaughlin agreed.
McGlaughlin noted that the need to install kitchen facilities as part of the
proposed rental hall operation, and indicated that both the property owner
and JJ's Hospitality is proposing to put in a significant investment in these
facilities. Sonnack did not anticipate that teen
nights would be their market. Sonnack stated that they wanted to be a
good business citizen and did not want to have problems with their
customer base.
Keis asked if quinceaneras were attended by teenagers only or entire
families. Jorge Flores reported that quinceaneras were family events that
are sponsored by parents and attended by extended family, neighbors and
friends. McGraw asked if a quinceanera would be in honor of numerous
girls or an event for just one girl. Flores indicated that they are typically
for one or two girls at a time.
Torkelson asked if an event was initiated by an outside party or one that
would be put on by the operators of the event hall.
