MINUTES <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />MAY 11, 2015 <br />FUNDRAISER <br />QUIET <br />ZONES <br />CITY-WIDE <br />GARAGE <br />SALE <br />ADJOURN <br />fundraiser from its 10% tax. The Administrator reported that the City has <br />done this in the past for other fundraisers conducted by the Fire <br />Department. He also noted that the State does not tax the profits generated <br />from benefit raffles. <br />Montour introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2015-5-95 — EXEMPTING THE FIRE <br />DEPARTMENT BENEFIT RAFFLE PROCEEDS GENERATED ON <br />APRIL 12, 2005 FROM THE CITY'S 10% TAX <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Fischer. <br />Ayes (4). <br />Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted. <br />Torkelson asked if there were any actions that the Council could take this <br />evening to provide the City Administrator with flexibility relative to <br />speeding up the quiet zone process. The City Administrator indicated that <br />the biggest item that needed to be resolved was approval of the MN DOT <br />and the Railroad Agreements. The Administrator indicated he is hoping <br />that there will be no delays due equipment delivery or the scheduling of <br />the work by the railroad. <br />The City Clerk reported that this Saturday, May 16th is the City -Wide <br />Garage Sale. There are over 50 participants in the sale. Sale hours are <br />generally 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. A map and sale listing is available on the <br />City's web site, at the City Center, and at local businesses. <br />There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 9:00 p.m. <br />Attest: <br />f <br />i T.
