MINUTES <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />MAY 27, 2015 <br />SUMMER <br />INTERNSHIP <br />IRRIGATION <br />SYSTEM <br />AT PUBLIC <br />WORKS <br />FACILITY <br />COUNCIL <br />CHAMBERS <br />LIGHTING <br />The City Administrator reported that he and the City Clerk recently met <br />Anna Leibel to discuss the possibility of a summer internship. Ms. Leibel <br />is a college student at St. Cloud State and is interested in becoming a City <br />Manager. The internship would be for 12 weeks, approximately 15 to 20 <br />hours per week, at a pay rate of $10 per hour. The Administrator reported <br />that Ms. Leibel would assist staff with some special projects such as <br />updating the Nuisance/Abatement Ordinance, Solicitors Ordinance, etc. <br />The Administrator indicated that there may be some potential for <br />employment beyond the internship. <br />Montour introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2015-5-107 — APPROVING A 12 -WEEK <br />SUMMER INTERNSHIP FOR ANNA LEIBEL AS RECOMMENDED <br />BY THE CITY ADMINISTRATOR <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Fischer. <br />Ayes (5). <br />Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted. <br />The City Administrator reported that two quotes were obtained for the <br />installation of an irrigation system at the new Public Works facility. The <br />low quote was received from Aqua City Irrigation in the amount of <br />$7,686. Staff is recommending approval of the low quote. <br />Montour introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2015-5-108 —AWARDING THE LOW QUOTE <br />SUBMITTED BY AQUA CITY IRRIGATION FOR INSTALLATION <br />OF AN IRRIGATION SYSTEM AT THE NEW PUBLIC WORKS <br />FACILITY <br />The foregoing resolution as duly seconded by Fischer. <br />Ayes (5). <br />Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted. <br />The City Administrator noted that there has been discussion that the <br />lighting of the back wall in the Council Chambers is detracting from the <br />wall itself. The Administrator reported that he discussed the issue with the <br />architects and reviewed the options that were suggested by the architect in <br />his May 21st email. <br />12 <br />
