MINUTES CITY COUNCIL MAY 27, 2015 SUMMER INTERNSHIP IRRIGATION SYSTEM AT PUBLIC WORKS FACILITY COUNCIL CHAMBERS LIGHTING The City Administrator reported that he and the City Clerk recently met Anna Leibel to discuss the possibility of a summer internship. Ms. Leibel is a college student at St. Cloud State and is interested in becoming a City Manager. The internship would be for 12 weeks, approximately 15 to 20 hours per week, at a pay rate of $10 per hour. The Administrator reported that Ms. Leibel would assist staff with some special projects such as updating the Nuisance/Abatement Ordinance, Solicitors Ordinance, etc. The Administrator indicated that there may be some potential for employment beyond the internship. Montour introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION NO. 2015-5-107 — APPROVING A 12 -WEEK SUMMER INTERNSHIP FOR ANNA LEIBEL AS RECOMMENDED BY THE CITY ADMINISTRATOR The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Fischer. Ayes (5). Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted. The City Administrator reported that two quotes were obtained for the installation of an irrigation system at the new Public Works facility. The low quote was received from Aqua City Irrigation in the amount of $7,686. Staff is recommending approval of the low quote. Montour introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: RESOLUTION NO. 2015-5-108 —AWARDING THE LOW QUOTE SUBMITTED BY AQUA CITY IRRIGATION FOR INSTALLATION OF AN IRRIGATION SYSTEM AT THE NEW PUBLIC WORKS FACILITY The foregoing resolution as duly seconded by Fischer. Ayes (5). Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted. The City Administrator noted that there has been discussion that the lighting of the back wall in the Council Chambers is detracting from the wall itself. The Administrator reported that he discussed the issue with the architects and reviewed the options that were suggested by the architect in his May 21st email. 12
