MINUTES <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />SEPTEMBER 26, 2007 <br />RESOL UTION NO.2007-9-239 -CONTINUING THE PUBLIC <br />HEARING ON THE PROPOSED AMENDMENTS TO THE ZONING <br />CODE RELATIVE TO SIGNAGE UNTIL THE OCTOBER 24, 2007 <br />REGULAR COUNCIL MEETING <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by McGraw. <br />Ayes (5). <br />Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted. <br />EXTENTION Mayor Blesener opened the Public Hearing to consider the extension of <br />OF a moratorium on the issuance of permits for advertising signs. This <br />MORATORIUM- moratorium was initially put in place until the City could adopt regulations <br />PERMITS on dynamic and electronic signs. <br />FOR <br />ADVERTISING There was no one from the general public present wishing to comment on <br />SIGNS this matter. <br />Upon motion by Montour, seconded by Allan, the public hearing was <br />closed. <br />It was the consensus of the Council to extend the moratorium for another <br />six months, the maximum amount of time the City would be allowed to do <br />so. <br />Mr. Keis introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br />RESOLUTIONNO. 2007-9-290 -EXTENDING THE MORATORIUM <br />ON PERMITS FOR ADVERTISING SIGNS UNTIL MARCH 26, 2008 <br />BASED ON THE FINDINGS THAT THE CITY COUNCIL IS NOT <br />SURE THAT THE PROPOSED ORDINANCE IS IN FINAL <br />ADOPTION FORMAND THAT ADDITIONAL TIME IS <br />NECESSARYFOR THE CITYATTORNEYAND THE CITY <br />COUNCIL TO CONDUCT A COMPLETE REVIEW OF THE SIGN <br />ISSUES <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Montour. <br />Ayes (5). <br />Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted. <br />21 <br />
