MINUTES
CITY COUNCIL
SEPTEMBER 26, 2007
CONSENT Mr. Montour introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption:
AGENDA
RESOLUTION NO. 2007-9-24I -APPROVING THE CONSENT
AGENDA WHICH CONTAINS THE FOLLOWING:
*APPROVAL OF THE VOUCHERS;
*APPROVAL OF SUBMISSION OF GRANT APPLICATION FOR
2008 SCORE FUNDING;
*CALLING FOR A BUDGET WORKSHOP MEETING FOR
WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 14, 2007AT 6:30 P.M.;
*APPROVAL OFNON-CONSERVATION CLASSIFICATION OF
CERTAIN TAX FORFEITED PROPERTIES IN THE TWIN LAKE
AREA AND AUTHORIZING RAMSEY COUNTY TO PROCEED
WITH SALE OF THESE PROPERTIES
The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by McGraw.
Ayes (5).
Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted.
PLAT The City Planner suggested that based on the discussion of the Richie
REVIEWS Plat this evening, the City may want to consider identifying areas of the
City it feels appropriate for larger lot zoning. The Planner expressed
concern with identifying these areas on a plat by plat basis, and felt that
establishment of a specific zoning for larger lot areas was preferable.
Allan agreed with the Planner's suggestion. Blesener felt that such a
zoning would make sense for some areas that abut areas with large lots or
wetlands.
The Planner also suggested that in addition to the City's Tree Preservation
Ordinance, it could consider ordinance amendments that require natural
feature preservation.
Blesener stated his feeling that a 500 foot limitation on a cul-de-sac was
not realistic. Keis felt the limitation was not a bad one, and stated that he
did not want to change it at this point.
The Planner indicated that he has never had a challenge to the temporary
cul-de-sac Code provision. The Planner felt that the main question was
whether consideration should be given to creating a different zoning
district for larger lot development.
22
