MINUTES <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />DECEMBER 19, 2007 <br />Upon motion by Montour, seconded by Allan, the public hearing was <br />closed. <br />Mr. Montour introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br />RESOLUTIONNO. 2007-I2-325-APPROVING THE RENEWAL OF <br />PAWN BROKERS LICENSE FOR LINCOLN PAWN & JEWELRY, <br />2750 RICE STREET, FOR THE LICENSE PERIOD JANUARY I, <br />2008 THROUGH DECEMBER 31, 2008 <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Blesener. <br />Ayes (5). <br />Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted. <br />Mr. Montour introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2007-I2-326 -APPROVING THE SECOND <br />HAND GOODS DEALERS LICENSES FOR THE LICENSE PERIOD <br />JANUARY I, 2008 THROUGH DECEMBER 3I, 2008 AS FOLLOWS: <br />LINCOLN PAWN & JEWELRY, 2750 RICE STREET; <br />CHRISTL4N LIFE MINISTRIES, 2756 LAKESHORE AVE.; <br />JOE'S SPORTING GOODS, 33 COUNTY ROAD B; <br />SECOND IMPRESSIONS, 2800 RICE STREET <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Blesener. <br />Ayes (5). <br />Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted. <br />2008 Mayor Blesener opened the Public Hearing to consider the adoption of the <br />BUDGET 2008 Budget. <br />The City Administrator pointed out that the 2008 Budget has been <br />developed following a number of budget workshop meetings as well as a <br />Truth In Taxation hearing. The proposed 2008 Budget is $2,387,488, <br />which is a 6.03% Gross Levy Increase. After factoring in Fiscal <br />Disparities, the net impact is a 4% increase. The Administrator noted that <br />while this sounds high, the street lighting portion of the budget increased <br />over 4%, the Sheriffls Contract increased over 6%, the Fire Department <br />conhact increased over 4%, and the Streets Budget is at an over 10% <br />increase given rising fuel/oil costs. <br />9 <br />
