MINUTES
CITY COUNCIL
FEBRUARY 14, 2007
Blesener asked if the City has seen a reduction in the amount of inflow
into the sewer system as a result of these manhole covers. The City
Administrator indicated that in 2005 the City purchased 200 of these
covers and put them in service. Since that time, Little Canada was
removed from the Metropolitan Council's list of targeted communities to
watch for high rates of inflow/infiltration. While it is difficult to quantify
the exact impact that the new manhole covers have, Public Works feels
that they have made a significant impact.
Ms. Allan introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption:
RESOLUTION NO. 2007-2-38 -APPROVING THE PURCHASE OF
200 MANHOLE COVERS FROM ESS BROTHERS AT A PRICE OF
$17,572.50 AS RECOMMENDED BY THE PUBLIC WORKS
SUPERINTENDENT
The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Montour.
Ayes (5).
Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted.
OFF-SALE The City Clerk reported that the Dan Ross, owner of the Citgo Station,
3.2 LIQUOR made application for an Off-Sale 3.2 Intoxicating Malt Liquor License for
LICENSE - the station located at 300 Little Canada Road. A satisfactory Sheriff's
CITGO Department Background Check has been received, and a Certificate of
STATION Liquor Liability Insurance is pending. The Clerk recommended approval
of the license as requested.
The City Clerk further noted that last fall Mr. Ross applied for an Off-Sale
3.2 Intoxicating Malt Liquor License for the Sinclair Station. Mr. Ross
has decided, however, not to implement this license as there are very few
customers that patronize the convenience store.
Mr. Blesener introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption:
RESOL UTION NO. 2007-2-39 - APROVING AN OFF-SALE 3.2
INTOXICATING MALT LIQUOR LICENSE FOR THE CITGO
STATIONAT 300 LITTLE CANADA ROAD AS REQUESTED BY
MR.
