MINUTES <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />JUNE 13, 2007 <br />The Superintendent noted that a couple of cases of illicit discharges were <br />identified in 2006. He noted that residents have been helpful in reporting <br />these situations. Examples of illicit discharge are the dumping of things <br />like paint, chemicals, or grass clippings into the storm sewer system. He <br />further noted that the City is completing its storm water mapping system, <br />which must be submitted to the MPCA by 2008. <br />The Superintendent reported that Little Canada is participating in a pilot <br />study to see if it can partner with the Watershed on this permit. This <br />partnership would result in the Watershed assisting the City in meeting <br />educational requirements under the permit, while the City would supply <br />the Watershed with some maintenance support. Meetings have begun to <br />discuss this collaborative effort. <br />The Superintendent asked for any comments or questions. There was no <br />one present from the general public wishing to comment on this matter. <br />Upon motion by Montour, seconded by McGraw, the public hearing was <br />closed. <br />Mr. Montour introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br />RESOLUTIONNO. 2007 6-133 -ACCEPTING THE 2006 ANNUAL <br />REPORT FOR MUNICIPAL SEPARATE STORM SEWER SYSTEMS <br />AND AUTHORIZING ITS SUBMITTAL TO THE MINNESOTA <br />POLLUTION CONTROL DIVISION <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Keis. <br />Ayes (4). <br />Nays (0). Resolution declared adopted. <br />NORTHWEST Kay Andrews, Executive Director, Northwest Youth & Family Services, <br />YOUTH & appeared before the Council to provide an update of the services that <br />FAMILY NYFS has provided to Little Canada residents in the past year. She noted <br />SERVICES that under NYFS's By-Laws, Little Canada has the opportunity to have <br />either an elected official or a staff member on their Board. <br />Andrews thanked Little Canada for its partnership with NYFS over the <br />past 30 years, and then turned the presentation over to Jerry Hromatka, <br />Associate Director. <br />Hromatka thanked the Council for the opportunity to present the NYFS <br />report this evening. He noted that NYFS has been serving the north <br />suburbs since 1976 offering comprehensive, cost-effective services in the <br />
