This permit requires that the City hold a public hearing to
receive comments from the public relative to the City's Storm Water
Pollution Prevention Program.
The Superintendent reviewed the City's annual storm water report that
will be submitted to the MPCA which outlines the City's progress towards
improving water quality. He noted that significant progress has been
made in developing a storm water ordinance. The ordinance mirrors
Watershed rules with some modifications based on Little Canada's
circumstances. The draft ordinance will be presented to the City Council
later this year for adoption.
The Superintendent reported that the Sleepy Hollow has been dredged this
year to increase pond capacity. The City plans to increase the frequency
of this type of work and will be targeting one or two ponds each year. The
Superintendent noted that 18 of 66 outfalls were inspected during 2006.
Work is also being done to develop a more efficient inspection and
documentation system.
2
