MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING <br />PARKS & RECREATION COMMISSION <br />LITTLE CANADA, MINNESOTA <br />July 17, 2007 <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof a regular meeting of the Parks & Recreation Commission <br />of the City of Little Canada, Minnesota was held on the 17`" day of July, 2007 in the Council <br />Chambers of the City Center located at 515 Little Canada Road East in said City. <br />Chair Tony Mans called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m. and the following members of the <br />Commission were present: <br />MEMBERS PRESENT: <br />Mr. Tony Mans, Chair <br />Ms. Linda Fahey <br />Mr. Jim Fleischhacker <br />Ms. Clara Neis <br />Mr. Kevin Steinert <br />Ms. Ruth Steinwall <br />MEMBERS ABSENT: <br />Ms. Pam Davis, Vice-Chair <br />ALSO PRESENT: Mr. Jim Morelan, Parks & Recreation Director <br />Mr. Bill Sanders, Parks Consultant <br />Ms. Kris Pechman, Recording Secretary <br />MINUTES Fahey recommended that the minutes from the meeting held on June 7, 2007 be approved as <br />submitted. <br />Motion seconded by Steinwall. <br />Motion carried 6 - 0. <br />ICE CREAM The Director distributed ice cream social flyers for the Commissioners to hand out at local <br />SOCIAL businesses. The social will be held on Thursday, August 2 from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. <br />Commissioners should arrive at Spooner Park by 6:15 p.m. Pechman reported that she was <br />unable to find anyone to perform face painting, but clowns fiom the St. Paul Clown Club will be <br />present to entertain the kids. A notice was placed in the city newsletter that will be mailed <br />shortly, on the city's website, and on the Canadian Days button cards. Notices will also be <br />placed on Cable Channel 16 and will be emailed to people in our registration database. <br />MAPLEWOOD Sanders stated that bid results are not available for the Maplewood trail connection. However, <br />TRAIL city staff has met with Maplewood regarding a joint powers agreement which will be the next <br />CONNECTION step. Maplewood staff will also be meeting with two Maplewood property owners adjacent to <br />the trail which have requested additional screening. <br />TENNIS CTS Sanders reported that Buck Blacktop was the low bidder for the tennis courts at Spooner and <br />Pioneer Parks.
