MINUTES OF THE WORKSHOP MEETING <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />LITTLE CANADA, MINNESOTA <br />OCTOBER 10, 2007 <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof ajoint workshop meeting of the <br />City Council and Parks & Recreation Commission of Little Canada, <br />Minnesota was convened on the 10th day of October, 2007 in the Council <br />Chambers of the City Center located at 515 Little Canada Road in said <br />City. <br />Mayor Bill Blesener called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.rn. and the <br />following members of the City Council were present at roll call: <br />CITY COUNCIL: Mayor Mr. Bill Blesener <br />Council Member Ms. Barb Allan <br />Council Member Mr. John Keis <br />Council Member Mr. Mike McGraw <br />Council Member Mr. Rick Montour <br />PARKS & REC <br />COMMISSION: Commissioner Ms. Pam Davis <br />Commissioner Ms. Linda Fahey <br />Commissioner Mr. Jim Fleischhacker <br />Commissioner Ms. Clara Neis <br />Commissioner Ms. Ruth Steinwall <br />ALSO PRESENT: City Administrator Mr. Joel R. Hanson <br />Parks & Rec. Dir. Mr. Jim Morelan <br />City Clerk Ms. Kathy Glanzer <br />The purpose of this evening's meeting is to review issues related to parks <br />and recreation in a joint workshop with the City Council and the Parks & <br />Recreation Commission. <br />SKATEBOARD The Parks & Recreation Director reported that the Commission has been <br />PARK looking into the feasibility of adding a skateboard park to the recreational <br />offerings provided to youth within the City. He noted that a skateboard <br />park would fill a gap in providing recreational opportunities for youth that <br />are not involved in the more structured recreational program. The <br />Director also noted that the Little Canada Recreation Association has been <br />involved in charitable gambling for the past couple of years, and are <br />interested in funding the cost of the skateboard park.
