MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING <br />PART{S & RECREATION COMMISSION <br />LITTLE CANADA, MINNESOTA <br />November 1, 2007 <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof a regular meeting of the Parks & Recreation Commission <br />of the City of Little Canada, Minnesota was held on the 1 st day of November, 2007 in the <br />Council Chambers of the City Center located at 515 Little Canada Road East in said City. <br />Chair Tony Mans called the meeting to order at 7:34 p.m. and the following members of the <br />Commission were present: <br />MEMBERS PRESENT: Mr. Tony Mans, Chair <br />Ms. Pam Davis, Vice-Chair <br />Ms. Linda Fahey <br />Mr. Kevin Steinert <br />Ms. Clara Neis <br />Ms. Ruth Steinwall <br />MEMBERS ABSENT: Mr. Jim Fleischhacker <br />ALSO PRESENT: Mr. Jim Morelan, Parks & Recreation Director <br />Ms. Dotty Norgard, Recording Secretary <br />'NU'I'ES Neis reco~nrnended that the mir¢utes frm~s the ~~aeetirzg held ora October 4, 2007, be upj~roved <br />as submitte~L <br />Motio~i seco~aded by Falzey. <br />Motion curried G - 0. <br />RECAP The Director reported that the workshop with the Little Canada City Council, held on October <br />OI+ CITY l0, 2007, was very productive. The skateboard park was the major topic of discussion. Bill <br />COUNCIL Bach of Earl F. Anderson discussed issues related to skateboard parks and reviewed the type of <br />WORKSHOP equipment that is being considered for the Little Canada skateboard park The Director stated <br />the council had many questions and the consensus was the council was in agreement with <br />having a skateboard park. Davis also thought the skateboard park was explained very well and <br />presented great insight for all in attendance. Fahey asked if Earl F. Anderson would be the <br />company we would be using for the construction of the park. The Director stated that he <br />thought the Little Canada Recreation Association would use Earl F. Anderson as the conh•actor. <br />The Director gave the Council an update on the trail system. He reported the progress of the <br />Joint Powers Agreement with the City of Maplewood for the Power Line Trail and the possible <br />trail along Country Drive. <br />Tire Director thought the Parks & Recreation Commissioners should meet with the City Council <br />at least once a year as it provides for great communication. <br />Page 1 of 4 <br />
