The applicant is requesting an amendment to the existing comprehensive sign plan to <br />allow a wall sign for Coliseum Billiards. The proposed wall sign is 24 square feet in <br />area. The neighboring tenant, Bangkok Ave, is also proposing a wall sign. Said sign is <br />79 square feet in area. <br />The gross silhouette area of the shopping center is approximately 14,543 square feet. <br />Therefore, the total allowable sign area for the site is 2,182 square feet. The total sign <br />area proposed, including the Bangkok Ave sign and the Coliseum Billiards sign, is <br />1,140.85 square feet. The proposed and existing signage is distributed among the <br />tenants, with 841.85 square feet of wall signage and 299 square feet of pylon signage. <br />The shopping center as a whole is within the parameters of allowed signage. <br />RECOMMENDATION <br />As a whole, Marketplace Center is well within the parameters of total signage allowed <br />for the site. The proposed Coliseum Billiards sign is appropriately sized to identify the <br />entrance to their business. The proposed Bangkok Ave sign is also appropriate for the <br />site.
