MINUTES
PLANNING COMMISSION
JANUARY 11, 2007
division is the proposed location of the house. She noted that the house
would be set 7 %z feet from her rear property line. Berggren stated that she
understands that this setback complies with City Codes; however, felt the
house appears to be crammed into the lot. Berggren suggested that the
southern lot line be adjusted to widen the lot so that the house can be moved
further from her property line. Berggren suggested that it may be necessary
to move the hockey rink to accommodate the lot line adjustment.
Knudsen noted that Mrs. Berggren's house is a good distance from her rear
property line. Berggren replied that that was true, but indicated that
construction of this new house will eliminate a wildlife area. Berggren
indicated that she has about 10 trees in her backyard, and the Boss's
recently took down about 14 trees. Berggren stated that her main concern
was the closeness of the house to her rear property line. She felt that with
some adjustments in the location of the southern property line or the angle
of the house, it could be located further from the property line.
Diane Hanson, 40 LaBore Avenue, asked about the vacated portion of Boss
road and how close Boss Road would be to her home if it is improved all
the way through to LaBore Avenue. The City Planner noted that according
to the survey submitted for the property division, the brick grill is just on
the right-of--way for Boss Road. The Planner indicated that in order to
proceed with the property division, the applicant will be required to
construct an asphalt street with curb and gutter at least up to the new
driveway. The Planner indicated that the Council will consider the road
improvement at a public hearing on Tuesday, January 23`d, at 8:00 p.m. At
that hearing the Council will consider whether Boss Road should go all the
way through to LaBore Road or if it should end in a cul-de-sac.
Knudsen asked about the road improvement in relation to the proposed
property division. The City Planner indicated that the property division
meets all Code requirements subject to Boss Road being improved. The
Planner again noted that the Council will consider the road improvement at
a hearing on January 23`d. The property division will then be presented to
the Council for action at a public hearing on January 24`"
Knudson again noted that other than the driveway adjustments
recommended by the City Planner, the property division meets Code. He
noted that the City Council will evaluate the road improvement on January
23`d, and suggested that the neighborhood raise their issues related to the
road at the improvement hearing.
Hanson asked if Boss Road goes all the way through, how much of her• yard
will be lost. The City Planner indicated that if the road goes all the way
through, the pavement would be centered within the right-of--way. The
-3-
