SOCIAL <br />MEDIA <br />MINUTES O1 THE WORKSHOP MEETING <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />LITTLE CANADA, MINNESOTA <br />SEPTEMBER 26, 2012 <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof a workshop meeting of the City <br />Council of Little Canada, Minnesota was convened on the 26th day of <br />September, 2012 in the Council Chambers of the City Center located at <br />515 Little Canada Road in said City, <br />Acting Mayor Richard Montour called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m. <br />and the following members of the City Council were present at roll call: <br />CITY COUNCIL: Acting Mayor <br />Council Member <br />Council Member <br />Council Member <br />ABSENT: Mayor <br />ALSO PRESENT: City Administrator <br />City of Roseville <br />City Clerk <br />Mr, Rick Montour <br />Ms, Shelly Boss <br />Mr. John Keis <br />Mr, Mike McGraw <br />Mr, Bill Blesener <br />Mr, Joel R, Hanson <br />Mr, Terre Heiser <br />Ms, Kathy Glanzer <br />The City Administrator noted that one of the recommendations from the <br />2011 Goal Setting Session was to "Upgrade the City's Website/Soeial <br />Media", With regard to the website, the Administrator noted that the <br />design is based on GovOffice, which somewhat limits layout options, <br />However, City staff is constantly reviewing the website to ensure that <br />information is timely and accurate. Ho reviewed the history of the <br />development of the website, pointing out that Little Canada was a beta site <br />in the development of GovOffiee by Avenet, Boss indicated that it <br />appears the calendar on the website is not up-to-date and is missing <br />information. Keis suggested that all City meetings be included in the <br />calendar, The City Administrator indicated that he would look into those <br />issues, Montour suggested that the home page notification that the City's <br />newsletter is available include the date of the most current newsletter so <br />the issue available is easily identifiable. <br />Keis ranked the City's website was good to above-average. With regard <br />to Facebook and Twitter, Keis indicated that he was not sure he wanted to <br />go that direction. Heiser indicated that there are challenges, in general, <br />with keeping websites up-to-date, Adding Facebook and Twitter present <br />additional challenges. Heiser indicated that cities generally need full-time <br />communications personnel to keep these social media outlets current, <br />
