Draft -May 25, 2005 <br />Revised -May 26, 2005 <br />TASK 4. SURVEY <br />A. It may be appropriate to consider another survey of residents in order to <br />determine park needs and current service. This is an optional service that <br />will be discussed with the City. <br />TASK 5. PUBLIC PARTICIPATION/VISIONING WORKSHOP <br />A. Conduct a visioning workshop with the general public to review issues <br />and opportunities and solicit input for a vision for parks, recreation, trails <br />and open space. <br />B. Document he outcome of the visioning workshop, particularly the issues, <br />opportunities and vision for the park system. <br />C. Meet with the Park and Recreation Commission and City Council to <br />discuss the public comment and continue the discussion of vision. <br />TASK 6. PRELIMINARY CONCEPTS <br />A. Prepare graphics for each park and trail area that summarizes the analysis, <br />issues, opportunities and vision. <br />B. Prepare concept plans that present ideas for future park improvements. <br />C. Meet with the Park and Recreation Commission to review the concept <br />plans. <br />TASK 7. PUBLIC PARTICIPATION/OPEN HOUSE <br />A. Present the concept plans and preliminary vision to the public in an open <br />house or workshop format that provides residents an opportunity to <br />provide input into the planning process. <br />B. Document and summarize the outcome of the public participation process. <br />TASK 8. DRAFT PARKS MASTER PLAN <br />A. Based upon public input, make any necessary revision to the concept <br />plans. <br />B. Prepare a draft Parks Master Plan; including plans and report, that <br />documents the inventory/analysis, demographics/trends, survey, vision, <br />concept plans and public process. <br />C. Prepare an implementation plan, with cost estimates for future <br />improvements, recreation programming and phasing recommendations. <br />D. Prepare preliminary recommendations on park and hail policies and <br />ordinances. <br />
