MINUTES <br />Parks & Recreation Commission <br />February 3, 2005 <br />....SSION opportunity to vote on items, but it shouldn'C change the outcome very much. A final draft will <br />be presented to the Commission at next month's meeting. A workshop session will be held to <br />develop a plan of action for the top ten items. A couple of the projects that the Director is <br />excited about is an update of the Park Master Plan and the ability to process recreation <br />registrations online. <br />CO RD B2 The Director stated that County Road B2, west of I35, is scheduled for reconstruction this year. <br />TRAIL In conjunction with this project, the City Council has discussed the ability of the multi-family <br />dwelling pedestrians to safely access Rice Street. To accomplish this, additional sections of off- <br />street t~~ai] will be needed on B2 from Rice Street to Viking Drive. The Director stated that <br />formal action approving this matter is needed from the Commission. <br />Steinert recommended approval of the construction of an off-street trail on Cozznty Road B2 <br />frozn Viking Drive to Rice Street. <br />Motion seconded by Gray. <br />Motion carried 6 - 0. <br />FLAGPOLE The Director stated that as part of the 2005 budget process held last fall, discussion was held <br />regarding placement of a flagpole at Pioneer Park. Sanders stated that he will develop an idea <br />for placement of the pole at the park and present it to the Commission at a future meeting. <br />OTHER The Director stated that the St. Paul Winter Carnival will be holding their car racing event on <br />Gervais Lake this weekend.
