MINUTES <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />MARCH 26, 2008 <br />and the JPA memorializes the understandings between the two cities <br />relative to billings, maintenance and repair, and infiltration/inflowisues. <br />The second JPA is for the water main Maplewood will consri•uct from the <br />intersection of Keller Parkway and Arcade Street that will run easterly <br />along Keller Parkway, turn north onto Kohlman Lane to service this area <br />including Beam Avenue. The Administrator noted that once the water <br />main is complete, Maplewood will turn it over to Little Canada. Little <br />Canada will then be responsible for on-going maintenance and operation. <br />The third JPA addressed Maplewood's extension of their sanitary sewer <br />line to the north from Kohlman Lane to provide service for the new areas <br />to be developed in Little Canada. Little Canada will be responsible for <br />100% of these costs. The work will be bid as an alternative to enable <br />Little Canada to cancel this component of the project should the pricing <br />not be favorable when compared to the construction and maintenance of <br />multiple lift stations. This agreement also assigns a share of project costs <br />for• street and water main to serve Little Canada's portion of Beam <br />Avenue. Maplewood will be providing an exhibit to this JPA to document <br />the calculation/allocation of these costs. <br />Mr. McGraw introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br />RESOL UTION NO.2008-3-87 -APPROVING THE SANITARY <br />SEWER USE/CONNECTION AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE <br />CITIES OF LITTLE CANADA AND MAPLEWOOD ADDRESSING <br />THE PORTION OF MAPLEWOOD'S PUBLIC SANITARY SEWER <br />SYSTEM WHICH IS CONNECTED TO THE LITTLE CANADA <br />SANITARY SEWER SYSTEM FOR THE PURPOSE OF <br />TRANSPORTING SEWAGE FROM MAPLEWOOD'S SEWER <br />DISTRICT l2 SUBJECT TO FINAL APPROVAL BY THE LITTLE <br />CANADA CITYATTORNEYAND SUBJECT TO APPROVAL OF <br />THIS AGREEMENT BY THE CITY OF MAPLEWOOD, AND <br />AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND THE CITYADMINISTRATOR <br />TO EXECUTE THIS AGREEMENT ON BEHALF OF THE CITY <br />The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Keis. <br />Ayes (3). <br />Nays (0).
