Resolution declared adopted. <br />RICE STREET- The City Administrator noted that the Council requested proposals for <br />VIKING the development of the City's property at Rice Street and Viking Drive. <br />DRIVE - One proposal was received from Abdo Markethouse, and that proposal <br />ABDO was heard at an April 16t~' workshop meeting. At its Apri123, 2008, the <br />MARKETHOUSE City Council decided to leave the property on the open market and not <br />given exclusive development rights to the property to Abdo Markethouse. <br />The Administrator reported that Larry Abdo is present this evening to <br />request that the Council reconsider this action. <br />Larry Abdo, Abdo Markethouse, reported that he has lived in the City for <br />the past 30 years. He reported that he and his family are developers and <br />can see the value of the City's Rice Street/Viking Drive sites. Abdo <br />reported on the existing tough market conditions, and pointed out that <br />without an exclusive development arrangement, it was not economically <br />feasible for them to market this property. He provided an extensive <br />history of his company's experience, market conditions, and the corporate <br />
