MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING <br />PARKS & RECREATION COMMISSION <br />I.ITTI,E CANADA, MINNESOTA <br />August 1, 2002 <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof a regular meeting of the Parks & Recreation <br />Commission of the City of Little Canada, Minnesota was held on the ls` day of August, 2002 <br />in the Council Chambers of the City Center located at 515 Little Canada Road in said City. <br />Chair Sackett Glaser called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m. and the following members of <br />the Commission were present: <br />MEMBERS PRESENT: Ms. Ginger Sackett Glaser, Chair <br />Mr. James Broten <br />Mr. David Gray <br />Mr. Craig Larson <br />Mr. Robert Schabacker <br />Mr. Kevin Steinert <br />MEMBERS ABSENT: Ms. Carla Horwath <br />ALSO PRESENT: Mr. Bill Sanders, Park Consultant <br />Mr. Joel Hanson, City Administrator <br />Ms. Kris Pechman, Recording Secretary <br />MINUTES Braten recafunended that the minutes from the meeting dated June 25, 2002 be approved <br />as submitted. <br />Motion seconded by Steinert. <br />Motion carried 6 - 0. <br />ICE CREAM The Commission tabled this matter since Horwath was not in attendance. The Commission <br />SOCIAL Members were interested to hear the band's comments on the event. <br />Steinert felt that future events should be geared more toward Little Canada residents rather <br />than the entire Roseville Area School District. <br />Sackett Glaser stated that next year, signs are needed to direct people to where the social is <br />located and also to recognize sponsors. Additionally, work shifts should be scheduled so that <br />ice cream can be served during the entire concert. <br />BUDGET The City Administrator answered questions that the Commission had relating to the status of <br />open items in the General Capital Improvement Budget. He also stated that the Park Land <br />Acquisition Fund should see a boost this year. <br />Sanders commented that the Minnesota Releaf Program has not been funded for the past few <br />years due to lack of funds to distribute.
