<br />The following Council members vrere present:
<br />Louis W. nJlelancon, Uiayor; Roy 1'. Nadeau,
<br />Cleric; Carl Spooner and ,John Vitale, Trzzst.ees.
<br />Edward Loeffler, Trustee, was absent. Also present were Walter Coenen,
<br />Treasurer; and Tared P. Ntemmer, Vi.ll.age Attorney.
<br />Mr. Henry Monn anal Mr. Ray Mitchell of the. Twin. Lake area
<br />present.eci a petition to the Council requesting the annexation to the
<br />Village of T..it.tle Canada of the South one-half (S?) of Section 31,
<br />Township 30 North, Rarq e 22 Vest. The petition was read at length
<br />by the cleric. Attached to the petit.ion was a census report taker, by
<br />five (~i) legal ~roters, residents of the area proposed for annexation,
<br />whhich shows that fi.he area contains 12li. inhabitants, r3eing a half sec-
<br />tion., this area corrsisi:s of 320 acres, the rna.jor portion of which is
<br />Sand owned by the St.. Paul City !+Jater bVOrics <^~nd part of Twin Lalce.
<br />'this area is bounded on the South by the present Nor°th boundary of
<br />the Village of Kittle Canada, on the U~est .by Rice S1'.rEe'c, on the North
<br />by the East. and PJest half section line of Ser,tion 31, 'Township ?0 North,
<br />Range 22 U~est., and on the Fast by ~th.e East. section line of sale] section.
<br />Upon c~otion by Nadeau, seconded by Vitalr., it was

<br />of Little Canada for the annexation o1' the South one-half
<br />(S1) of Section 31, Township 30 North, Range 22 t~Jest, as
<br />presented by Tlenry J. ~Qonn, Joseph F. T'letcher, I?ichard
<br />]I. Jacobsen, L.ibero Morri and Richard A. LTertrand, legal
<br />voters and resider%s of said half' section., which petition
<br />has been exar.~ined and approves] by the Vi1l.age Attorney,
<br />bc~ and is hereby accepted by the Council of the said Vil-
<br />lage of Little Canada and the Village Council hereby ap~-
<br />praves said request for annexation on t.l~ grounds tl~ai
<br />the area to be annexed is a terri.t.ory abutting upon the
<br />Vi.Ll.age of Little Canada, is not included in a.ny other
<br />village, city or borough, and is so conditioned as pro-
<br />perly to be subjected to village government."
