MINUTES OF SPECIAL MEETING <br />OF THE VILLAGE COUNCIL OF <br />THE VILLAGE OF LITTLE CANADA <br />~ m ~ <br />Pursuant to call, a special meeting of the Council of the Village of <br />Little Canada was held on Wddnesday, June 25, 1959 at 7;39p.m. at the Fire Hall <br />at 440 E. Little Canada Road. The following Council Members were present: <br />Louis W. Melancon, Mayor; Walter F. Coenen, Cla~k, Edward R. <br />Loeffler, Carl Spooner, John M. Vitale, Trustees, <br />Also present; Louis G. Jespersen, Road Superintendent, Fred P. Memmer, <br />Village Attorney and Donald Carley, Village Engineer. <br />The meeting was called to order, and the first order of business was <br />the consideration of the continued hearing for the improvement of County Road B-2 <br />from Rice Street, eastward for a distance of 1,200 feet. Mr. and Mrs. Karp and <br />Mrs. Auge, three of the property owners located on the North side of that portion <br />of County Road B-2, were present. There was some discussion about the method of <br />assessing for benefits. It was finally decided that before the work would be <br />ordered and the contract let, that the Village Attorney should write letters to the <br />School Board, the Continental Baking Company, and the owner of the empty lot ad,~acent <br />to Karpa, giving thear full detail as to assessment of benefits, etc., and to invite <br />these people to attend the meeting on July 8, 1959. The meeting was then continued <br />until July 8, 1959. <br />The Clerk read the petition of Mrs. Frances Hoelscher for rezoning the <br />property at 2950 Rice Street, from Residential to Commercial. <br />Upon motion by Vitale, seconded by Loeffler, it was <br />"RESOLVED, that the property described as: <br />South six (6) acres of the North half (N~) of the Southwest <br />quarter (SW~) of the Northwest quarter(NW~;) of Section 6, <br />Town 29, Range 22, except that part taken for railroad <br />right-of-way and sub,)ect to Rice Street, according to the <br />U. S. Government Survey thereof on file and of record in <br />the office of the Register of Deeds in and for said County. <br />be and is hereby rezoned from Residential to Commercial, and <br />that such rezoning is in the best interest of the Village." <br />Ayes - 5 Nays - 0 <br />The resolution was adopted. <br />The Clerk then read a letter received from the Ramsey County Municipal <br />Officers Association, relating to a uniform burning regulation ordinance. <br />Upon motion by Vitale, seconded by Loeffler, it was <br />"RESOLVED, that Walter F. Coenen, Clerk of the Village, <br />be and is hereby appointed to assist Mr. Spooner at the meeting <br />
