MINUTES OF THE WORKSHOP P9EETING <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />LITTLE CANADA, MINNESOTA <br />June 30, 1987 <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof a workshop meeting of the <br />Council of the City of Little Canada, Plinnesota was held on the <br />30th day of June, 1987 in the Council Chambers of the City Center <br />located at 515 Little Canada Road in said City. <br />Mayor P4ichael Fahey chaired the meeting and called it to order at <br />7:35 P.M. and the following members of the Council were present at <br />roll call: <br />MEMBERS PRESENT: Mayor P1r. P9ichael Fahey <br />Councilman Mr. !dilliam Blesener <br />Councilman Mr. Rick Collova <br />Councilman Mr. Jim LaValle <br />Councilwoman P~rs. Beverly Scalze <br />ALSO PRESENT: City Clerk Mr. Joseph Chlebeck <br />City Planner Mr. David Licht <br />Planning Commissioner Mr. Gene DeLonais <br />Senior Citizen Coordinator P1rs. Johanna Meath <br />School District #623 Dr. Roger 4lorner <br />School District #623 Mr. Jim Klassen <br />School District #623 Mr. Paul Borg <br />School District #623 P1r. Earl Hoekman <br />School District #623 Ms. Mindy Greiling <br />Economic Development Corom. Mr. 0. Larry Lee <br />Economic Development Comm. P1r. Ken Flug <br />Resident Mrs. Mary Fitzgerald <br />Resident ~9r. Jack Meath <br />Recording Secretary Mrs. Kathleen Glanzer <br />Mayor Fahey reported that the purpose of tonight's workshop meeting <br />is to conduct a focusing session with Pat Pelstring and Mike P9ulrooney <br />of Business Development Services, Inc. on how the City can attract <br />high-quality commercial and indiastrial developers to Little Canada. <br />Also, the City has offered to cover the cost of Business Development <br />Services in trying to locate a tenant for the Capital View building <br />which would enable the School District to retain a portion of this <br />building and use it for public purposes. <br />Fahey commented that it is the City's interest to see the east portion <br />of the Capital View site retained for recreational purposes. Fahey <br />also informed representatives of the School District present that the <br />City's Building Inspector has informed him that if the Capital View <br />building is sold, or there is a change in use, the building would <br />need to be sprinklered. <br />Larry Lee estimated the cost of sprinklering an existing building at <br />$1.50 per square foot. <br />P1r. Paul Borg estimated the size of the Capital View building at <br />146,000 square feet. <br />Page -1- <br />
