MINUTES OF THE WORKSHOP MEETING <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />LITTLE CANADA, MINNESOTA <br />JULY 28, 1993 <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof a workshop meeting <br />of the City Council of the City of Little Canada, Minnesota <br />was held on the 28th day of July, 1993 in the Counoil <br />Chambers of the City Center located at 515 East Little <br />Canada Road in said City. <br />Mayor Raymond Hanson chaired and called the meeting to order <br />at 5:45 p.m., and the following members of the Council were <br />present at roll call: <br />MEMBERS PRESENT: Mr. Raymond Hanson, Mayor <br />Mrs. Beverly Scalze <br />Mr. Jim LaValle <br />Mr. Steve Morelan <br />Mr. Bob Pedersen (arrived at 6:20) <br />ALSO PRESENT: Mr. Joel Hanson, City Administrator <br />Mr. Bob Voto, City Auditor <br />Ms. Kris VanSchoonhoven, Rec. Secretary <br />1992 City Auditor Bob Voto began the meeting by indicating that <br />FINANCIAL three reports would be reviewed at tonight~s meeting. They <br />REPORT are the Annual Financial Report, the Management Report and <br />Recommendations, and the Capital Project Funds. <br />Voto briefly reviewed the Annual Financial Report stating <br />that it is a standard report for suburban metropolitan <br />cities. <br />The next report reviewed was the Management Report and <br />Recommendations. Voto pointed out that the areas that may <br />be of interest to the City are: <br />* The State continues to make changes that affect City <br />finances. <br />* The City's Local Government Aid from the 5tate was <br />$138,700 in 1990 and has decreased every year since to <br />$66,100 in 1993. <br />* The City's current and delinquent property tax and <br />special assessment collection rates were both at or <br />above 99% in 1992 indicating a solid collection rate. <br />* The General Fund balance increased by $67,838 during <br />1992 pursuant to the City Council policy adopted this <br />past June retroactive to December, 1992. <br />-1- <br />
