MINUTES OF THE SPECIAL MEETING <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />LITTLE CANADA, MINNESOTA <br />JANUARY 18, 1995 <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof a special <br />meeting of the Council of the City of Little Canada, <br />Minnesota was held on the 18th day of January, 1995 in <br />the Council Chambers of the City Center located at 515 <br />Little Canada Road in said City. <br />Mayor Michael Fahey chaired and called the meeting to <br />order at 6:30 P.M. and the following members of the <br />Council were present at roll call: <br />MEMBERS PRESENT: Mayor Mr. Michael Fahey <br />Council Member Mr. Jim LaValle <br />Council Member Mr. Steve Morelan <br />Council Member Mr. Bob Pedersen <br />Council Member Mrs. Beverly Scalze <br />ALSO PRESENT: City Admin. Mr. Joel Hanson <br />City Engineer Mr. Paul Heuer <br />Admin. Asst. Mrs. Kathy Glanzer <br />IMP. No. Mayor Fahey opened the public hearing to consider <br />94-5 - the improvement of Viking Drive east of Edgerton <br />VIKING DR. Street by water main improvement as well as street <br />reconstruction, concrete curb and gutter, and storm <br />drainage facilities. Fahey pointed out that this <br />improvement was discussed at a neighborhood meeting <br />held on November 21, 1994. At that meeting it was <br />apparent that the property owners were in favor of the <br />water main portion of the improvement. The issue of <br />the street was open for discussion, however. A <br />subsequent survey was sent to the nine property owners <br />involved. Four surveys were returned, in which two <br />property owners favored the road improvement and two <br />did not. <br />The City Engineer reported that there are two possible <br />alignments for the water main, the first being on the <br />north side of the street and the second on the south. <br />The Engineer reported that the advantage of alignment <br />#1 is shorter services for the property owners. The <br />disadvantages are that this alignment would take out <br />mature trees, disrupt yards and driveways, and there is <br />the need for easement acquisition. Advantages of <br />
