MINU'PES OF THE WORKSHOP MEETING <br />CITY COUNCIL AND PLANNING COMMISSION <br />LITTLE CANADA, MINNESOTA <br />JANUARY 11, 1996 <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof a workshop <br />meeting of the City Council and the Planning Commission <br />of the City of Little Canada, Minnesota was held on the <br />llth day of January, 1996 in the Council Chambers of <br />the City Center located at 515 Little Canada Road in <br />said City. <br />Chairman Gene DeLonais called the meeting to order at <br />6:30 P.M. and the following members of the City Council <br />and Planning Commission were present at roll call: <br />CITY COUNCIL: Mayor Mr. Michael I. Fahey <br />Council Member Mr. Jim LaValle <br />Council Member Mr. Steve Morelan <br />Council Member Mr. Bob Pedersen <br />Council Member Mrs. Beverly Scalze <br />PLANNING <br />COMMISSION: Mr. <br />Mr. <br />Mr. <br />Mr. <br />Mr. <br />Mr. <br />Mr. <br />Gene DeLonais <br />Scott Barraclough <br />Dennis Carson <br />John Keis <br />Dan Knudsen <br />Rick Montour <br />Fred Schletty <br />ALSO PRESENT: Mr. Steve Grittman, City Planner <br />Mr. Joe. Hanson, City Admin. <br />Mrs. Kathy Glanzer, Admin. Asst. <br />COMP PLAN The City Planner reported that the update of the <br />UPDATE Comprehensive Plan is a different approach than the <br />City's previous Comprehensive Plan. The update breaks <br />the community down into different sub-regions, and <br />addresses issues which are present in each region. The <br />plan is primarily land use related. Since Little <br />Canada is an established community, the focus of the <br />Comprehensive Plan is on redevelopment, with the Rice <br />Street area receiving the bulk of the attention. <br />The Planner felt it important to look at the Comp Plan <br />as an overall generalized approach to the communities' <br />planning, and then look at the Development Guide as a <br />specific plan.
