MINUTES OF THE REGUL}1R MEETING <br />CITY COUNCIL <br />LITTLE CANADA, MINNESOTA <br />JULY 10, 1996 <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof a regular <br />meeting of the City Council of the City of Little <br />Canada, Minnesota was held on the lOth day of July, <br />1996 in the Council Chambers of the City Center located <br />at 515 Little Canada Road in said City. <br />Mayor Michael I. Fahey called the meeting to order at <br />6:30 P.M. and the following members of the City Council <br />were present at roll call: <br />CITY COUNCIL: Mayor Mr. Michael I. Asst. <br />Mr. <br />Mr. <br />Mr. <br />Mr. <br />Mr. <br />Mrs <br />Bob Pedersen <br />Joel Hanson <br />Tom Sweeney <br />Steve Grittman <br />Greg Schroeder <br />Kathy Glanzer <br />COMP PLAN Mayor Fahey opened the Public Aearing to consider a <br />REVIEW complete revision of the City's Comprehensive Land Use <br />Plan. The focus of this hearing will be all property <br />within the City of Little Canada located on the east <br />side of Interstate 35E. On June 26th a public hearing <br />was held which focused on all property within Little <br />Canada located on the west side of the freeway. <br />The City Planner reported that part of the process in <br />updating the City's Comprehensive Plan was to inventory <br />existing land uses. The Planner presented a map <br />showing the existing land uses within the City. The <br />Planner pointed out that the vast majority of Little <br />Canada is already developed. There are only a few <br />pieces of undeveloped property remaining, and most of <br />these are undevelopable because they are wetlands or <br />there are other site constraints restricting the <br />property. <br />The Planner reported that the Land Use Map lays out the <br />framework for zoning as well as other kinds of land-use <br />type decisions made by the Planning Commission and the <br />City Council. When a developer comes in with a <br />proposed land use, that use must be consistent with the <br />1 <br />
