MINUTES OF THE WORKSHOP MEETING CITY COUNCIL & PLANNING COMMISSION LITTLE CANADA, MINNESOTA MARCH 13, 2008 Pursuant to due call and notice thereof a joint workshop meeting of the City Council of Little Canada, Minnesota was convened on the 13th day of March, 2008 in the Council Chambers of the City Center located at 515 Little Canada Road in said City. Mayor Bill Blesener called the meeting to order at 5:30 p.m. and the following members of the City Council were present at roll call: CITY COUNCIL: Mayor Mr. Bill Blesener Council Member Ms. Barbara Allan Council Member Mr. John Keis Council Member Mr. Michael McGraw Council Member Mr. Rick Montour PLANNING COMMISSION: Chair Mr. Dan Knudsen Vice Chair Mr. Tom Duray Commissioner Mr. Scott Barraclough Commissioner Mr. John Hall Commissioner Ms. Kate Socha ALSO PRESENT: City Administrator Mr. Joel R. Hanson City Planner Mr. Steve Grittman Code Enf. Officer Ms. Jessica Jagoe City Clerk Ms. Kathy Glanzer I-1 ZONING The purpose of this evening's workshop meeting is to review proposed DISTRICT I-1 Zoning District Changes. Mayor Blesener noted that if changes are adopted to the I-1 District, existing Conditional Use Permits in the District will be grandfathered in. The new standards would come into play if a property owner applies for an amendment to their existing CUP or a new CUP. The City Planner reviewed the proposed changes to the I-1 Zoning District in detail beginning with 914.040. CONDITIONAL USES. G.l. through 16. which regulate open and outdoor storage as an accessory use. Major highlights of these requirements are: o Outdoor storage shall require a separate business license. The Planner noted that a CUP for outdoor storage runs with the land. The proposal is to require an outdoor storage license which would be specific to each user.
