<br />WS – Item 1 <br />WORK SESSION STAFF REPORT <br />Work Session Item No. 1 <br /> <br /> <br />Date: September 6, 2016 <br /> <br />To: City Council <br /> <br />From: Jeff Karlson <br /> <br />Re: North Metro TV Services <br /> <br /> <br />Background <br /> <br />During the City Council meeting on July 11, 2016, former councilmember, Dale Stoesz, <br />came to the microphone and recommended that the Council review the franchise fees and <br />PEG fees that subscribers pay for cable television services. Mr. Stoesz was concerned <br />about whether the current funding structure through Metro North TV (NMTV) is <br />sustainable and he recommended the Council review the numbers in order to fully <br />understand how the funds come from subscribers. <br /> <br />Mayor Reinert agreed it’s an important discussion to have occasionally. <br /> <br />Heidi Arnson, Executive Director of North Metro TV, will be present to talk about the <br />benefits of membership with North Metro TV and some of the costs to replace NMTV <br />services. <br /> <br />Requested Council Direction <br /> <br />None required. <br /> <br />Attachments <br /> <br />Benefits of Membership <br />Costs to Replace some NMTV Services <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />
