CITY COUNCIL <br />AGENDA ITEM 4B <br /> <br /> <br />STAFF ORIGINATOR: Public Safety Director John Swenson <br /> <br />MEETING DATE: June 13, 2016 <br /> <br />TOPIC: Hiring of two Part-time Community Service Officers <br /> <br />VOTE REQUIRED: 3/5 <br /> <br /> <br />INTRODUCTION <br /> <br />The Lino Lakes Public Safety Department is requesting Council approval to hire two part-time <br />Community Service Officers. <br /> <br />BACKGROUND <br /> <br />On April 20, 2016, CSO Kate Croteau resigned from the Lino Lakes Public Safety Department <br />which created one PT CSO opening. In addition, on April 4, 2016 Council approved the hiring of <br />an additional PT CSO to provide support for the ACE program. <br /> <br />The hiring process has been extensive including an interview process, background <br />investigation, and drug screen. This process has identified candidates that will continue the <br />Public Safety Department’s proud tradition of delivering high quality services to the Lino <br />Lakes Community. <br /> <br />RECOMMENDATION <br /> <br />Staff recommends the Council approve the hiring of Jonathan Tomczik with a start date of June <br />27, 2016 and Nicholas Small with a start date of August 22, 2016. <br /> <br />ATTACHMENTS <br /> <br />None
